I have been involved in the 'Digital Revolution' since 1996 when I learned Photoshop and began scanning film and negatives into the computer to layer them with textures as I had already been doing in the enlarger in the darkroom. The techniques I use today with a digital SLR are all derived from those laborious darkroom stints, spending hour upon hour in the dark seems like a long way off now, but holding on to that aesthetic has always been important to me.
Since then, I have gone on to teach 'Photoshop 1 & 2' and 'Digital Imaging' at the New School, in New York 1998 - 2001 and developed the 'hands on' process of 'Photo Encaustic' which is a wonderful print finishing technique and taught a workshop in September 2010 at Applied Arts School in Amagansett, New York.
